I am currently a contracted cadet and will be applying for medical schools this summer. I'm nervous about the educational delay process and was wondering if the Army will grant educational delay to accepted students of podiatry or optometry schools. I can only find information about HPSP and not guidelines on educational delay. I'm also concerned that the person who deals with this at the ROTC office has out-dated information, that's why I'm asking SDN.
Any advice is appreciated!

Ask the ROTC HR person for Cadet Command Circular 601-15-1. The most recent one I could find online was 601-13-1 and it indicates both Podiatry and Optometry are eligible for educational delay. The list of eligible degrees for delay is also likely in one of the appendices of Cadet Command Regulation 145-1. Good luck. If you have a crappy HRA and Cadre it will be difficult.

AR601-25 is the relevant Regulation. Go to www.armypubs.army.mil
