As a URM, do you think I'll get into Medical School with these stats?

I am URM Hispanic, as my mother's mother is Hispanic. If that's not considered URM, then that's fine. You tell me what you think about that. I am also a California resident, which sucks.

Here are my qualifications. I know that my GPA is low, but I want to know where I can get with these stats. I am going to apply to many different schools (Both MD and DO), and I hope to get in somewhere. The schools I'm thinking about are:

*Touro School of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California (DO) (Dream)
*Touro School of Osteopathic Medicine in Nevada (DO)
*UCSF School of Medicine (MD) (Dream)
*Stanford School of Medicine (MD) (Dream)
*University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (MD)
*UC Davis School of Medicine (MD)
*University of Connecticut School of Medicine (MD)
*New York University (MD)
*UC Riverside School of Medicine (MD)
*University of Pikeville (DO)
*UC Irvine School of Medicine (MD) (Dream)
*Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
*Loyola University School of Medicine (MD)
*Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine (MD)
*University of New England Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
*University of Minnesota Medical School (MD)
*College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Northwest (DO)

In total that's...17 schools (11 MD schools and 6 DO schools)

PLANNING on volunteering at ER

1. How can I improve my application? I plan to apply in the early time frame.

2. What are my chances in each school that I listed above?

3. Should I take a year off and just improve my GPA?

4. Is all hope lost?

Which type of Hispanic? Not all of them are considered URM by every school.

If you are considered to be URM status, you have a 70% chance of at least one MD acceptance. If you are a non-URM white Hispanic, your odds are 34.9%.

1) GPA GPA GPA. Everything else looks good.
2) Stanford and UCSF seem pretty remote to me. I wouldn't hold my breath for NYU or the other UCs, either. I think those OOS state-schools may also be reaches, although I don't have the stats on-hand on their OOS %
3) It's not a terrible idea, but do you have a meaningful plan to improve it?
4) No

UC's, Stanford, and NYU are quite a bit of stretch. GPA and MCAT are quite a bit too low for both.

What about the OOS MD schools and DO schools?

I'm probably NOT going to say Hispanic since only my grandmother is Central American.

My Osteopathic GPA is around a 3.32 since they are more lenient than Allopathic

Also, I don't know if it helps....but I did poorly my first couple of years, but there's a strong 4.0 trend my last few years...I can get my GPA up to a 3.38 if it continues, and apply this cycle.

You're fine for any DO school. You won't qualify as URM, so skip the MD schools. If you're boning for the MD degree, then a post-bac or SMP is in order.
EDIT: a powerful upward trend might get some notice from the OOS low-tier schools, like, say, Tufts, Ruish or NYMC. You might consider Loma Linda, but read their list of don'ts.

Are we sure he won't qualify as URM? I've had to do some interview applicants for a job that was not medical school related and one of our policies was "never try to override self-identification for ethnicity". We wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole for legal reasons.

Obviously, Goro is the adcom member, so he knows much more about this than me.
