Hi all,

I am wondering if any Canadians (or any non-australian citizens for that matter) currently studying in Australia (or have since graduated) can speak a little bit about how they were able to cover the costs of attending school there and if they are still in (or expect to be in) debt after graduation and if so, for how many years?

Do you start earning money immediately after your 4 year (5 year) degree? How much? How fast does it increase? Is it enough to pay off your loans How long does it take until you are a registered specialist?

Finally, what are the scholarship options like?

Answers to any or all of these questions would be greatly appreciated

If you get residency in Canada or US all the salaries are made public. Canadian salaries are province dependent but it is like military pay, you get a set amount no matter what speciality and you move up one rank every year. Go to the CaRMS website for the salaries but in Canada they start at around 50-55k and move up about 3-10k per year something like that, but by PGY-6 you will be making around 90-100k.
