I know I posted few months back then, but application cycle is coming up and I just want to see if any of you have any other recommendations for me to improve my application.

You could eliminate many OOS public schools since they give a strong preference to state residents. Delete Louisville, Kentucky, West Virginia, Cooper, University of Wisconsin. Otherwise your list is very good. You should be competitive for any DO school.

I thought the Kentucky schools were reasonably OOS-friendly. I agree with gyngyn, although Dartmouth might be interested in someone with RN experience. You definitely want to get rid of Howard, Cooper, and the University of Wisconsin.

they're somewhat OOS friendly but to get in OOS your stats have to be above their medians

agree with gyngyn about dartmouth, unless you have some cool experiences/research outside of nursing i don't think the 20/31 MCATs are going to cut it there either

rest of the list looks solid

And they only have 89 total 1st year seats (including MD/PhD's)!

Yes, I have been emailing the schools and asking whether they will average the scores or take the highest one:)

So you think I should apply to Western Virginia, Cooper, Rochester, and Miami even though the above posters said delete it? Rationale?

How about George Washington and Georgetown? Is it because of the ridiculous amount of applicants?

Nobody has told me to take out Pen state. Why?

You think I have a chance at BU? I look at the school and my MCAT is only at average. Also, Jefferson averaged MCAT score.

Thank all for your response. I will take out Dartmouth, Howard and U of Wisconsin for sure.

Any other suggestions on EC will be highly appreciated:)

Cincinnati and OSU take a decent amount of OOS students. Toledo does too, but less.

Pick up an MSAR if you haven't already.
I had MSAR...I am just curious because I have not seen many people recommend Ohio as OOS friendly. I will definitely check out the schools you mentioned. Thanks:)

UC's website says 30-40% OOS last four years. I think Ohio State is similar.
