Beat the board mistake--

Which is not a good prognostic factor for schizophreniform-- Ans is given as family H/O mood disorder.....

It is suppose to be good prognostic factor.

Please let me know

They could mean that family history of mood disorder does not work well to help prognosticate, instead of meaning that it imparts a poorer prognosis.

I'd be interested in the actual wording to help assess that.
 
Good prognositc features for schizophreniform disorder include all of the following except:
A. Good premorbid functioning
B. Confusion at height of mood disorders
C. Family history of mood disorders
D. Absence of Blunte or flat affect
 
I don't know the correct answer from research and don't have time to look it up, but it would make sense that having a family history of mood disorders would lead to a poor prognosis. Family conflict and certain communication styles in the family of people with schizophrenia predicts higher relapse rates and hospitalizations. I would imagine that mood disorders are also associated with these types of family systems. In other words, the conflict-filled environment makes mom depressed and makes sons schizophreniform disorder worse.
