In Massachusetts, as a Master's Level Board Certified Behavior Analysts, you'd be selling yourself short to accept anything less than 60K. State laws requiring private insurance to fund ABA services for individuals with autism went into effect ~4 years ago, creating an immediate demand for BCBA's that exceeds the supply. A law was recently passed and will likely go into effect by bey end of 2015 requiring MassHealth (our medicaid provider) to cover ABA services, and a behavior analyst licensing bill was just passed and is going into effect now (just received my licensure application today- hooray! More fees to pay and tests to take!). Both of these legislations will DRAMATICALLY increased the need for master's level BCBAs. From a financial standpoint, an MA in ABA or related field that meets criteria for BACB certification is a great thing, and we need more you. Similar laws have or will be passed in several states, so the situation may be the same throughout the country. Combine BCBA certification with psychologist licensure, and you are quite valuable and marketable.
