If you do a BS/DO, and then in the undergrad portion you do exceptionally well, can you drop out and apply to MD schools?
I didn't plan on applying for a BS/DO, I was just wondering. So, you want to work your butt off to get into a BS/DO program, to drop out of the program and apply to MD schools?
That's basically the same as going to a college, getting your bachelor degree and then applying to medical schools.
To answer your question, sure. You can drop out of the program (assuming it's an 8 year program) and apply to MD schools. But why would you? Save some time, and do the minimum to get into a college, and take it from there. That's what I would do if I was just going to quit the BS/DO program.

Just wondering, what were your stats for the BS/MD program you applied to?It's all good. I would look into the programs though. I applied to a BS/DO program, along with 4 other BS/MD programs. Best of luck to you!

Academically I was average.
3.96 GPA, 33 ACT (36 superscore), 2400 SAT, I took every AP class, and finished with an overall 4.0 for the AP classes.
For the sake of me being to lazy to type, I posted a quick run down of my stats on another one of your threads.
Just try hard, and abuse every opportunity you get. I didn't have too much of a social life (outside of school and clubs) in high school because I was so involved with everything else. Enjoy high school. I'm sure a majority of docotrs were not in a BS/MD program

Wut...
Believe it or not, that's the norm for BS/MD programs. Out of the 10 students in the BS/MD program I am in, 3 others, 4 including me, had a 2400.
I had the highest ACT score besides a girl who copped a 35.

You got to look at program specifics man. Not all BS/DO programs say that you can't apply to other medical schools. If you do a BS/DO, and then in the undergrad portion you do exceptionally well, can you drop out and apply to MD schools?
