Can residency programs see what programs you applied to?

Like... will they know if I applied to 10 or 100 different residency spots? And will they be able to see where and what cities? Or is it totally anonymous like med school?

Its anonymous. However, people will ask you over and over again where else you're interviewing. Its an off-limits question as per the NRMP, but you get it anyway, and they really do hold it against you if you're evasive. I had no problems answering honestly and only felt one place where I felt uncomfortable when the interviewer sort of grilled me on it. That place was way down on my list.
