  1. cGPA = 3.96 after 2 years of undergrad (4.0 scale)
  2. 523 MCAT (130/131/130/132)
  3. British Columbia, Canada
  4. Asian
  5. Currently doing undergrad at McGill (QC), BSc Psychology (Honours)
  6. Clinical experience: 1.5 years at a crisis/listening/info hotline, first responder volunteering, tutoring internship working with teenagers with learning disabilities, care centre (senior home) volunteer in high school (not entirely sure what counts exactly as clinical though?)
  7. Research experience and productivity: Currently doing a thesis in a social psych lab as part of honours program
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: very very little (3 hours in gynecologic oncology so far) but will hopefully do more by June
  9. Non-clinical volunteering: two years of experience facilitating intensive anti-oppression workshops for first year students, psychosocial oncology lab data entry work
  10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): Student council in first year of university, current floor fellow (residence advisor), president of a spoken word poetry club, equity committee with student society, swim/bike instructor, organization involved with nighttime walking accompaniment
  11. Relevant honors or awards: governor general academic medal in high school, minor entering scholarship in first year, Dean's Honour List + small faculty scholarship
I'm mostly hoping to apply to Canadian schools next year (top choice would be UBC) but would consider going international if necessary, what are some areas you would say I should try to improve on most? One thing that concerns me is that none of my 'clinical' experience really takes place in a hospital. I'm also pretty anxious about getting decent reference letters- I've never had very much one-on-one time with professors, or long-term work supervisors to vouch for me. Advice? Which schools would I have the best chances at based on my current stats? Thank you so much in advance, any help would be really appreciated.
