You're a tech saavy college student and you need a DAT Preparatory course that fits the way you study, communicate and shop. With the DAT and many dental schools going digital, isn't it time your DAT review course did the same?

Gas prices are soaring again and parking costs aren't much better. Our online, interactive course allows you to prepare for the DAT in the comfort of your dorm room, apartment or home while learning from our outstanding UMKC professors. We're fully interactive, so you can ask questions from instructors that are knowledgeable and experienced in teaching.

Dr. Gounev, our general chemistry professor has written test questions for the DAT. How's that for qualified?

What kind of improved scores are you seeing by taking this course?

Unfortunately, this is a brand new program. We don't have any statistical data to say what kind of improvements our students have made.

This course was developed in response to a number of complaints from pre-dental and dental students that had difficulty with the self-directed courses as well as instructional courses they've utilized and enrolled in to help them prepare for the DAT.

Their chief complaint was that the instructors for these courses weren't much more knowledgeable than they were. Teaching skills were another factor. These instructors, who generally were just barely out of college themselves, were not experienced lecturers and the courses were dysjunct.

Our goal was to provide a solution for these complaints by bringing in actual professors to teach the review course. This course is developed by our professors based upon the guidelines set down by the ADA in a live interactive online format.

How efficient is the live interactive online format? DAT preparatory course only offer from March to June?

We believe it to be very efficient. Our professors have developed a course based upon the ADA's recommendations and their own teaching experience. You're also talking about experienced lecturers that teach this curriculum year after year, so they are quite adept at it.

The DAT preparatory course is only offered from March through June based upon the application process of pre-dental students. It's designed to work within your schedule of taking the DAT and applying to dental school. We're trying to find out what our students require to help them with this process. If we find that 4 courses a year isn't enough, we'll add more.

We may find that there are a number of pre-dental students that are looking to prepare during the holiday season. If so, we may need to add one or more courses during that time. For now, we need your input to tell us what you need.

In the end, this is a course designed with the student in mind. If it were anything else, we would have priced it much higher or at least comparable to the self-directed courses offered by other entities. As it is, we are less than one-third the price of other review courses.

Are you professors experienced in the PAT portion of the exam as well?

This only covers the textbook areas.

This course only covers the various educational disciplines outlined by the ADA. The PAT portion of the exam isn't covered in this course, but we will be providing you with a webcast that will address the PAT portion of the DAT, free of charge.

The webcast that covers the PAT portion of the DAT will cover strategies to tackle the hurdles of the PAT. It will be a part of the resources available to pre-dental students that have signed up for our course.

Signing up for a membership won't cost you anything and will provide you with a number of resources that will help you prepare for your application to dental school.

Of course, signing up for a course has its perks as well. There are a number of webcasts that will be provided to you to help you with the PAT portion of the DAT, as well as understanding the dental school application process and what you might expect in each year of dental school.

As this program continues, we will continue to add additional webcasts and functional tools to help you with your efforts to get into dental school and beyond.

I haven't heard of this online sessions until I recently join this online network. I will definitely let my friends know about this website. So, how long has the online sessions been going on? Do you know on average how many students actually registered?

As I stated earlier, this is a new course. It is being offered by CE Webinar and the UMKC School of Dentistry. The first course begins in March. Another course will start in April, then May and then June.

Seats are limited and we have quite a few already registered for the courses. The beauty of this course is that anyone in the United States or in fact, the world can enroll and participate in this live course. They just need a computer and broadband.

Of course, there are some software requirements, but nothing too complex. Everything you need is accessible by the CE Webinar website: http://www.cewebinar.com.

Does it also provide enough questions For QR section?

So is it easy to get any questions that you may have answered?

Interesting! So have anyone out of the United States registered for this?

To answer both of your questions:

To DR2009:
All areas of the Quantitative Reasoning are covered in detail. The professor covers all materials and gives your ample time to ask questions and go over anything that you don't understand. She works with you on the different sections of the QR section and works through examples for you to understand the material properly.

To ads:
Yes, it is very easy to get all your questions answered. You type your question in by Instant Message and the professor answers it verbally. It's that simple. Questions need to be submitted by IM rather than verbally b/c it allows the professor to control the virtual classroom. Fifty people speaking at once can be a bit confusing.

But this course is only as effective as you make it. You need to ask questions if you don't understand something. Our professors are there to help you.

Yes, they have. We have had 1 foreign student sign up. Many US dental schools accept students from Canada and other foreign countries. Is it so surprising that they would need a DAT preparatory course as well? They still have to take the DAT to be considered for acceptance.

Even so, the earlier statement is meant to convey the accessibility of this program to any individual, regardless of their location as long as they had a computer and broadband.

The technological implications of this program is extensive but primarily it provides access to individuals who may lack local resources in order to properly prepare for the DAT, such as those in rural communities. Our goal is to provide these individuals with a professor developed, professor taught DAT Preparatory Course. Experience professors, like Dr. Gounev, who has written actual DAT test questions.
