Hi. I recently started looking at these boards and I was wondering what my chances are at MD schools. I am from new york and I will be graduating in the spring.

I go to a top 60 school and I have a 3.86 cGPA and a 3.82 sGPA. I received at 30O on the MCATs (10PS/9VR/11BS). I was averaging 31 on the practice MCATs so I probably will not retake it.

I have strong LORs and a solid personal statement.

My activities include:
General Chemistry Teaching Assistant (3 years)
Hillel Jewish community center member (no leadership, 4 years)
Clerical Assistant for Pastoral Care Office (4 months)
Neurologist shadowing (200 hours)
Internist shadowing (10 hours)
Nursing Assistant for the Anesthesia Workroom (8 months)
Pre-Med Living Learning Community (1 year)
Research (1 year including summer, no publications)
Volunteer with autistic children (2 years)

The schools that I'm looking at are:
Albany Medical College
Albert Einstein
Rosalind Franklin
Drexel
Hofstra
Jefferson
Medical College of Wisconsin
New York Medical College
NYU
Rush
SUNY upstate and downstate
Temple
Stony Brook
Tufts
Buffalo
U of Cincinnati
U of Rochester
Wright State
Thanks again :)

Your MCAT is a little low; unfortunately, you're in that difficult position where a retake is probably too risky, because if your score goes down that will not be good.

Everything else looks alright. Being an OH resident and being somewhat familiar with UCincy and Wright State, you definitely are a competitive applicant other than the fact that you're out of state (both schools draw heavily from the in-state population).

Your excellent cGPA compensates nicely for the MCAT score. For All Applicants applying in recent years with your stats, ~77% got an acceptance.

Some of your schools are reachy, but I have no argument with your including some dream schools since you have many schools in your target range.
