I came across this calculator (its basically a spreadsheet) that calculates your chances based on GPA and MCAT. It calculates your chances for both MD and DO schools.

Does anyone have experience with it or know how accurate these calculators are?

And what about the fact that it doesn't look at your extracurriculars? Or are extracurriculars just not that important?

search LizzyM score in the forum. this calculator sorts schools by lizzym score and calculates your score.

Here it is: You can download this google.doc spreadsheet data (an SDN collaborative effort from 6/2011, based on the Lizzy M score), so you can fill in your own stats (on the “Your Stats” sheet at the very bottom), and it will tell you for which US med schools you’re competitive. You may need to add in any new schools not yet included.

I can't seem to download the file properly. I'm on a mac and I don't have an option that says "download as". Can someone please help???

I did it on my mac. If you open the link in a new window it should have a "file" button on the actual window on the top left.
