Also, when did you guys submit your applications to AUPN? I think that might also modulate when we receive interview invitations. I know my app has only been at programs since last Friday. I submitted it on Sept 1st.
 
I applied to aupn around 25th or 26th of August.
 
@VJ6: Cincinnati got back to me on 9/22. App to aupn 8/31 - programs 9/21. Good luck! I hope you hear from them soon

@everyone: just a question; how many people usually apply for Child Neurology? I mean how many applicants on average does a program interview? I couldn't find the statistics anywhere.

I'm new to this forum, but am applying to CN this year and so thought i'd chime in.

I've heard from: Hopkins, Mayo, Nationwide, St. Louis and UT-Houston
No rejections
Still waiting on: Boston schools, NYC schools, Seattle, Pittsburgh and North Carolina schools.

I'm also not sure what to expect from this match in terms of competitiveness and volume of applicants. I hope we ALL get accepted, and I'm pretty sure we will likely get to meet each other on this 'interview trail'.... so, I look forward to it!

2 rejections yesterdat: colorado and virginia :(

Agree with medstudent888 - very difficult to anticipate competitiveness of child neuro this year. At least we're starting a trend. With the move to NRMP there will be more data for future applicants. :thumbup:

Rejects: None so far
Waiting: CHOP, Boston's, JHU, UColorado, NY presby (columbia), UWash

It seems like they started to come all in the September and then at the end of the month they slowed to a trickle.

I sent to ERAS Peds programs on 9/2 or 9/3. AUPN had my app in 2nd week of September.

Had a couple of questions: How many programs on average did u guys apply to? Also are all of you American grads or IMG's as well?
 
I had another question: Are all of you applying for the 5 year categorical program or are some of you in a Pediatrics program already and applying just to neuro?
 
Interview at UT Southwestern :)
 
I am an IMG..... and I applied only to categorical programs. Didn't want to move, reapply, move~~~


I sent my application to AUPN on 12th Sept. They distributed them shortly there after. Interviews have been coming steadily, but did slow down just recently. I have a feeling the next batch might not be released until Nov 1st, the official deadline? No?

It is an exciting time though ... checking my inbox is the highlight of my day, especially as I sit here and study for step 2CK.

Hey medstudent888..I am an IMG as well :) I applied to both categorical n advanced programs. Hopefully will hear from more programs soon. Getting an interview is the highlight of my day as well, and I am also studying for my next step exam:) Good luck :)

I didn't see these schools on the list, but I've gotten interviews so I know they've started offering: Loma Linda, UCSD, Albert Einstein, NYU

Anyone going to Duke next week? It's my first and I'm super excited!

Great to see so many enthusiastic future pediatrics neurologists. I applied last year (currently intern in 5 yr program) and there was not a lot of activity on the forum year. Forgot about this altogether until one of the applicatns found an old post of mine and privately messaged me.

To the best of my memory I interviewed at:
East - Hopkins, DC Childrens, UVa,
Midwest - Univ of Chicago, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Mayo, Washington Univ
West - OHSU, Stanford, USC/CHLA, Loma Linda, UCSD

May be missing one or two but I tihnk that is it. There were a few programs that I had to cancel interviews with due to scheduling issues on my end (Pittsburgh, Duke, Boston Childrens, Wisconsin, Colombia, etc) and a few that I never, ever heard from (despite emails and calls). Of course there are always rejections (Denver and Seattle Childrens). Its a grueling, confusing and expensive process. You will have periods of euphoria and deep frustration...but in the end I promise it is all worth it :)

I have matched to a transitional year and I'm SOAPing some child neurology programs, do they require anything other than prelim medicine? Any Peds training?
