Hi, could you tell me how the clinical training in other countries is different from USA? Especially during the last 2yrs of med school, but also during residency. This basically out of curiousity. So please tell me about ireland, australia, scotland, germany, etc. Thanks.

Well, in Germany, you enter residency right after med school (unlike in other European countries, where you have to an internship or some sort of pre-training prior to applying for a residency program.) Medical school lasts for around 6 years (but can take 7 years in most schools.) Students are only awarded the doctor degree after defending a thesis (during the final year.) In addition, students have to pass the final state exams during the 5th and 6th years.
