Guess who isn't shocked that Lupin was a wolf? And that Dy was rezzed a wolf? Interesting game though, I liked the premise, wish I hadn't died as soon as I was able to pay more attention.
But you didn't know guise was a wolf, right? That was my goal after being converted was to get a noob wolf prepped for a good performance in games to come! She did me proud. :horns:

Gotta continue the trend of being infinitely more lynchable as a villager vs. a wolf, right? :p It was killing me that the info that Guis had a 1/4 chance of being a wolf and Dy 1/3 was out on the thread and it wasn't ever brought up again.

I really dropped the ball there by not immediately seering post-rez. Guis played it so cool in PM that I didn't notice any difference in play and decided I still trusted her enough to leave it for someone with dust-off to take care of. I take full responsibility, ha, nice job wolfing guis!

Whoa, I don't even remember seeing that on the thread, so that shows how well I was paying attention to details...

too bad you were dead, huh?

It's super easy to "know" who the wolves are when you aren't playing

Is this the part where I profusely apologize for making you guys play with the translator?

I (incorrectly) assumed that Guis and Dy had been looked into somehow after they came back.
I didn't use my own role very much but honestly I didn't see it as useful enough to risk killing villagers most of time.

MQ and I had actually discussed this when Guis got rezzed. I had said there's no way wolves would let a person with that role live long, if she wasn't dead in a day or two she was probably converted. It was good play on the wolves and chaos' part to create enough distraction right around that time since by the time kaydubs and aloha were lynched MQ and I were both dead too.

It's all in the strategy! muahahahaha

Jilary dropped the info when she was being lynched but I think it pretty much got lost in all the madness.

The night I rezzed guise. So I really was attempting to rez a helpful player. :)
Coincidentally, also the night Deva seered you as a villager. :hilarious:

MQ had a role that would have auto-converted to cover kaydubs' death if she hadn't happened to be firewalled by LIS when he died... so she was not the best person to expect to carry the mantle, haha. She was one of the potential threats.

I didn't use my own role very much but honestly I didn't see it as useful enough to risk killing villagers most of time.
You broke my little heart when you didn't use Aloha's role for anything. :arghh:

Missed that completely

Why didn't you pick my kaydubs ? Could I have tried any harder to get you to convert me?

...I also may have dropped the ball a little bit on making sure the wolves got your questions/answers. I think they only got two of them. This was really a hard game to run with limited time while on vacation...

Noooooo!

OH! And what did the porn do? I got it like two or three times as a wolf and didn't want to take any risks, so didn't use it. haha
Here's the description I gave to the mods (edited slightly to be more appropriate).

  1. Ika-tako Virus - Whoops, looks like downloading all that porn wasn't such a great idea! You've been infected with the Ika-Tako virus and must include a squid picture or reference with every post today.
  2. Loveletter virus - Whoops, looks like downloading all that porn wasn't such a great idea! You've been infected with the Loveletter virus and have accidentally started a PM with a random player. Your initial PM to this player MUST only say "ILOVEYOU" and nothing more. It is their choice whether to reply.
  3. Dead chat - Man, isn't porn great? You feel so refreshed after your...um... activities. Your mind is now so clear that you can now send a message to a dead person of your choice. (That was some porn you found!)

The porn loved you!

Porn! - Whoo-hoo! You found some of the good stuff online. It's just like Forrest Hump said in that one scene - porn is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're going to get. Take a click and make your day better with some good old fashioned fun.

1 in 4 chance of each of these. First three from Vethed, last from me as the consequence:

1. Ika-tako Virus - Whoops, looks like downloading all that porn wasn't such a great idea! You've been infected with the Ika-Tako virus and must include a squid picture or reference with every post today.

3. Dead chat - Man, isn't porn great? You feel so refreshed after your...um... activities. And what's great is that you now have so much clarity of mind! In fact, your mind is so clear that you can now pick one dead person to send you a short message of their choice.
4. Pikachu Virus - Whoops, looks like downloading all that porn wasn't such a great idea! You've been infected with the Pikachu virus, and thus may only post Pikachu pictures/gifs for the entirety of the day cycle.

Also, when I redirected onto herself, was she not killing that night or not able to commit suicide?

Minesweeper worked exactly like DVMD guessed, btw. It would give a number that represented the number of chaos/wolves that were above or below the person selected in the roster...or blow them up if they picked a wolf. Kaydubs always seering as a villager stopped Rocky from blowing up, and the number was wrong because of the 25% chance of failure. Lupin's luck this game was kind of insane.

This was not at all what Vethed's item originally did, but the original one was too powerful so I played with it. :p

Aloha never directly killed (always made some sort of modification or whatnot that caused the death) and was invincible until <10 players, so yeah you just functionally blocked her.

Items just for curiosity's sake:

Rv30Ga2.jpg

Can of Dust Off - Most well known for removing dust and debris from hard to reach spots in keyboards, this special edition Dust-Off can be brandished threateningly at a player to learn their affiliation.

LG9OqZ8.jpg

Flashdrive - Best served hotdog-style, you can plug this into the person of your choice to download their history from the previous night.

ihrunB6.jpg

External Hard Drive - Is that an ice lolly? No, it's a delicious looking external hard drive! Should you feel like searching through all of its contents (I suggest ignoring that folder), you may find out an ability of any one person in the game.

msc8WuL.jpg

Joystick - Plug this bad boy into your computer and you may use it to redirect the actions of the player of your choice during that night.

wg5Leuh.jpg

Surge Protector
- Is it a squid? Is it a surge protector? Neither - and both! - it's a power squid! Use this for its obvious use - one night of protection, but be careful... there may be conseqwwences.

Unx6jo9.jpg

Floppy Disk - Once a well regarded data storage device, these oldies are now considered mostly obsolete. They do make delightful planters, though! Unfortunately some players have also gone by the wayside, so they feel a bit of kindred spirit with them. Give this floppy drive to any player than has died within the last 3 days and and maybe they will transfer some information to you.

diIgvvc.jpg

Microphone - Plug this gorgeously sparkly microphone into your computer and use its magnified sound to ask the mods one yes/no broad game mechanics question this evening. There is a chance the microphone will sizzle out if the question is deemed too powerful... try to be reasonable. :)

YjBTe7c.jpg

Minesweeper - Who knows how to play this game, anyway? You'd much rather play pinball, or maybe some Solitaire. Feel free to pick a person to "click" with this item, and you'll most likely learn something helpful.

Then I started getting insanely busy so items didn't get a picture, but:
Netflix - Give a player the password to your Netflix account and they'll binge watch so many shows that they'll forget to turn in any night actions. Be warned, though: some people have mastered the art of multi-tasking!
Outside - Is this game infuriating? Absolutely taking over your life? Congratulations, we have a fix for you: the great outdoors. You must stay off the thread all day, but since you'll be away from technology for so long (and will obviously compensate once you return to civilization), you'll be able to double one action tomorrow.
Up to Porn was Allie, Porn onwards Vethed. With lots of small modifications and picture selection mostly by me. :p

Okay who killed me? I was literally invulnerable until I merged with FFM on the tie day... never got an item, never did much of anything, sad game for kcough

What determined the extra kill nights for kaydubs?
It was a potential consequence (in varying percentages) of a bunch of the roles' actions. Affiliation seer, 50% chance extra kill, ask a question 25% chance extra kill, etc.

So wait that would have killed me?
Could have! It's Minesweeper, you're not supposed to click on the mines! :p

Why did both players die in the first tie instead of being merged?
Because STL did it instead of me. :hilarious: He hadn't written down how he wanted ties dealt with, so when he wasn't around when there was a second one (and it was tied with a character that was half dead) I actually had no idea what he'd want done so I made something up. I've been playing with the thought of combined roles since the DocTits situation a couple games back and just ran with the idea. Figured it functionally worked like killing one of the two but still let them hang around/strategize, so win-win? I don't know that it was truly very successful, think it just somewhat contributed to the frustration about lack of deaths.

Bittersweet realization: I had every single wolf Kaydubs listed flagged as suspicious in my spreadsheet for this game. The last thing I did before I died was use the dust off to seer Dyachei since she had just been rezzed (it failed and told me she was a villager, though). Guis was next on my list to try to get someone to seer them as well.

I suspect I might have been killed for seering Dyachei though, as I was a little too trusting of FB in our PMs and told her who I was looking into that night.

Haha! I had already put in to have you deaded that night since I was thinking your items would be the end of us. So, fortuitous timing as always.

My approach to items was "what will cause lots of trouble for everybody?". They could be useful for anybody if used strategically, though of course there are a few items that simply have minimal to no use for wolves.

Yup. After checking to see if we were safe on the last lynch, Guise had the foresight to use the hotdog to nail the coffin shut on poor rocky. :D

As a final aside, you will notice Filly Bay is a NPC. If you try and lynch Filly Bay, she will randomly choose one of the people she voted for to die. If you try and kill her, you will die instead.

Curious - given the quoted and the fact that FB was a wolf, how would the villagers have been able to win the game? Were there mechanics for FB to be able to be killed or lynched at some point?

She was just another way for kdubs to get info considering she was the only wolf for half the game
