I'm starting to second guess my graduate school path and considering DPT instead of a PharmD. Are there any websites with a list of DPT schools as well as a list of their pre-requisites? I'm currently a senior and took many classes under the Pre-med and Pre-pharmacy course so hopefully many of those classes I've taken will overlap with the DPT pre-reqs.

Hey Jingle,

Please, please, please make sure PT is for you and that you've researched and gathered enough information about the field to have come to a 'definite' decision because the APTA website, which should have been your first go-to website for PT programs admissions, lists all the programs by state, links you to the respective program's website, and even compares program prerequisites.

Please see:

http://www.apta.org/ProspectiveStudents/ for general information for prospective students.
http://www.apta.org/PTCareers/ for general information of the profession and the role of a PT.
http://www.apta.org/ProspectiveStudents/Admissions/ for a comparison of PT program requirements.
http://www.apta.org/PTEducation/ an overview of the PT education.

http://www.ptcas.org/ for information on the programs that participate in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application service.

Thanks and good luck!!!

The information you are looking for is all on PTCAS.

Why are you now considering PT instead of pharmacy and medicine? PT is extremely different from those two and I wonder why you phrase it as "going with PT as a back up". That doesn't make it seem like PT is really what you want to do.

Why not become a PA as a back up or a nurse practitioner? Those are more similar but could be considered less demanding careers.

Pts and pharm prerequisites have a very very similar requirements.
Just go talk to your counselor. You would have to take 1 or 2 more classes probably (like psych and anatomy)
