Contacting Schools?

Is it appropriate to contact schools to see if they have made their decisions after interviews? I have interviewed at 2 schools and was told at both that they would notify us as soon as they knew something, and that we would know before the holidays if we were accepted, rejected, or wait-listed.
There is still time for them to notify me, is it best to wait until after the holidays? Just wondering.

I would probably wait until the week after holidays are over. Programs are just super busy right now because it's the end of the semester and all. Good luck!
