So there are a ton of panic threads (yearly panic, secondary panic, waitlist panic, sometimes just "PANIC!"), but as far as I could tell,* nothing like a repository for things that people do/look at/listen to to keep a positive/steady outlook during what might feel like the longest leg of this application marathon: the waiting.

But there must be activities/music/books/cool medical or sciencey things/breathing exercises/motivational cat gifs that help distract us from our mutual plight and/or remind us what we came for. Why not share?

Things like this guy:

Or this song (holla at my non-trads/re-applicants):

Or these excerpts from a favorite poem:
1.
Ezra Pound said:
What thou lovest well remains,
the rest is dross
What thou lov’st well shall not be reft from thee
What thou lov’st well is thy true heritage

2.
Ezra Pound said:
But to have done instead of not doing
this is not vanity
To have, with decency, knocked
That a Blunt should open
To have gathered from the air a live tradition
or from a fine old eye the unconquered flame
This is not vanity.
Here error is all in the not done,
all in the diffidence that faltered . . .

Or Cool Spock With Awesome Vintage Car, who is clearly inviting us all to live long and get into med school.

OK, one more song (more non-trad pandering):

Soliciting pretty much anything -- except maybe application stats (that's what the rest of this forum is for, anyway). What encouraging thing did your mentor/patient during clinical shadowing/random person in the grocery store say that made you extra stoked for doctorhood? How did you treat yo'self after getting out all those secondaries? Or your first interview invite (I splurged on 4 lbs of a strawberries)? What songs are on your "BROOK NO OPPOSITION" playlist? What made you forget to panic today?

*Search parameters (within Pre-Med Allopathic subforum):
"anti-panic" showed "suffering anxiety disorder"
"morale" showed threads about fudging primaries and interview question threads ("moral")
"affirmation" -> "affirmative action"

Love neuro!!! And I wish I could paint; when I get stressed, I run.

...and I'm about to go for a run

@noolsy running is quite fantastic and I find it eases the stress the most for me. During this year of potential acceptance/denial, I stress too much.
