Hello I wanted to try and start a thread of some of the most craziest/weird stories or experiences to happen in the ER with a pt or just in general.

I recall a young woman whom presented to the ED obtunded after a witnessed seizure at home. She ended up intubated. While awaiting a head CT, the boyfriend was sitting in the chair next to the bed. As I poked my head in to take a peek at the vitals, I noticed some unusual markings around her neck. I took a closer look and they appeared to be marks from human hands in a strangling pattern. As I looked at these closely, the boyfriend looks up at me with a look of sheer terror and runs out of the room and the ambulance bay doors. Turned out this was a murder attempt.

This was a colleague of mine from residency..

Oh and she was pregnant at the time.

My friend has seen everything from small animals to lightbulbs that were ummmmmm....inserted and not able to be removed without a doctor
