My step 1 score is 250 and I'm wondering when I should take Step 2 CK? I am wondering if taking it in mid to late-September would be too late for interview considerations. It seems like some programs are downloading applications on Oct 1 and the rest on November 1. I'm wondering if I get my score back after a program downloads my application, can I simply email the program and tell them about my score? Thanks!

With a Step 1 score of 250, I recommend deferring Step 2 CK as late as you can. If your score on Step 2 goes up, it helps you minimally. If your score on Step 2 goes down by a lot, it can potentially hurt you. Not enough benefit to warrant taking Step 2 early enough for interviews.
I would, however, check to see which programs require a Step 2 CK before applying as I understand more and more programs are requiring this. If a program you are interested it requires Step 2 CK, then I recommend taking it as early as possible since the material is most relevant to your 3rd year rotations.
