Dental Observership in US

Hi,

Need some information regarding dental observership:
1) What's a common duration of observership one needs to complete?
2) What kind of documentation supporting my observership i need to take from the dental clininc?
3) Am i expected to do some project/studies during my obversership? If yes, any examples? does that help during application process?

We really do not use that term. You often can ask a school or a program if you can go to observe... but not for credit.
Some places offer externships, generally for students of a CODA approved school.

Each program is different. Each may require different documentation of what you have done.

At the hospital here we have had guests from Brazil, Moldova, VietNam, and Camboda for 1 week to 1 month... observing.

If your aim is to get to know about dentistry in the US and take some didactic courses as well, then maybe you want to do the 'Preceptorship' programs.
these are offered by many universities and are of varying durations.
Whats more, you can choose a specialised filed such as Orthodontics, prosthodontics, oro-facial pain etc..

UCLA, UCSF, UTHSCSA are some schools that offer these programs.
