Ok, I have a question for you dental students. About a week ago I was chewing on a straw and I accidentally scraped the straw over my gums (middle bottom) and they have been sore since. I know that it takes an ulceration about 7-10 days to heal, but I was wondering if I could do anything to speed that up...

And also, my facial lymph nodes are swollen and sore in the area around the traumatized area. Is this normal? I've been treating it with a H2O2 rinse and also Listerine. I thought that should take care of any infection.

Also, is there some way to prevent ulcerations like this? This happens a lot and it's actually fairly painful...

Any help is appreciated!!!
