Dental school rescinded my acceptance

I just got an email from USC saying that my acceptance has been rescinded because I did not make a second deposit. However, I sent a check two weeks ago and apparently they did not receive it. I already emailed them and will call them tomorrow to straighten things out. What should I say and is there anyway they will make an exception? This is kind of a crucial situation for me..

Tell them exactly what happened. You must have some form of receipt when you sent it or a bank statement showing you made a money order of that amouny etc, and provide that if they ask for evidence.
