This is some of the cores from last year, we haven't recieved this years official list yet. Our clinical dean also can usually arrange for people to get a core somewhere that is not on the list if they are really interested in the program, so its pretty wide open. How does it work in your neck of the woods oncogene?

you barely beat me Jon. Must be because I am a two finger typer.

DMU

Thaks for the response and it is good to be back. What do you guys know about the program at forest park? My first observation in podiatry was with the chief resident at that program. For some reason I did not ask many questions. He did mention that he went to DMU.

do you have to spend all 4 months in the same place for the core or can you spend each of the 4 months in a different hospital?

The 4 months of "Core rotation" are all spent at one location. The other 8 months of the year can be split up just about any way you want. You can take 1 month off (if you want), and 1 month needs to be in a private practice setting (to get some exposure to private practice and office management). Some people arrange a month with a non-podiatry specialist (usually something pertinant like radiology or vascular surgery), though some may try a month with primary care. I think some people managed these with friends or family so they could be close to home over a holiday month or to decrease costs. A lot is what you make of it. Rotations at the end of the year (after CRIPs and the match) are really more for personal benefit than for help in getting into residency etc. Lots of options available during the 4th year.

Now I do wish I went to DMU. The jealousy is just too consuming....................
