MCAT 1st attempt - 07X
MCAT 2nd attempt - May 2012
Dismissed From Caribbean Medical School

I will be taking the MCAT in May 2012 and hope to apply in June 2012 if I perform well. If I were to score a 30 or above on the MCAT, would it be worthwhile to apply to MD and DO schools or is the fact that I scored so poorly on my 1st attempt at the MCAT coupled with the fact that I was dismissed from a Caribbean medical school forever prevent me from gaining entrance in to an American Medical University? What score, if any, on the MCAT will make me competitive for gaining entrance in to a United States school? What, if anything, must I do with regard to my extracurriculars to be more competitive.

Any input will be appreciated.

Well your ECs and GPA are fantastic. I don't know what you mean by a 07X MCAT... does this mean a 7 in each section? Either way, if you retake your MCAT and get a 30+, you would be competitive anywhere, including upper-tier schools I think.

However, the biggest issue is your dismissal from the Caribbean school. Why did this happen?

OP: Don't double post, it is bad forum behavior and the answer is going to be the same:

You got kicked out a school-of-last-resort; you need to look at other options in life.

I can't talk about your chances at DO/MD schools, because I honestly don't know.
But, have you thought about trying another carib med school?

what is 7X? does it mean you got 7 as a total, and X in your writing?

Troll?? LOL

So let me get this straight. Instead of improving your test-taking skills, studying hard, retaking the MCAT and getting yourself into a US school, you took the easy way out, went to a school in the Caribbean which did not require the MCAT, got yourself kicked out, and THEN decided to retake the MCAT??

Sorry buddy, but I doubt that US schools will take that dismissal lightly. Heck, certain Carib schools probably will be out of reach. Before you waste your time and money, I suggest that you talk about the issue directly with the medical schools you plan to apply to.
