Yet another "Chances" post. Here's the story:

DO student
22x USMLE 1
57x COMLEX 1
both step 2 pending
middle of the pack for class rank

some research, originally from southern cal, went to a school in the Northeast.

Do i stand a good shot at CA programs? Why/why not?

Edit: should have been more clear: ACGME family programs.

Thanks!

I don't know specifically for CA programs, so I am sorry, but a 570 puts you in the running for much more competitive residencies than FM. It would be my guess that you won't have many problems. If COMLEX II is solid, you'll probably be able to hand "pick" your program of choice. Do an audition or two at programs you're serious about. The DO world is all about fit in my experience and the best way to establish that is to rotate with a program. It is how I wound up at my program. I would have never picked it if I didn't rotate through for a month.

You have a good chance at DO Orthopedic Surgery. Does that clear it up?
