Do we need to know about reducing sugars for new mcat (i.e. Benedict's test)?

I couldn't find anything on Benedict's/Tollen's test for the new mcat on the aamc outline (last mcat we had to know this). Do we need to study that indepth for this topic for the ochem section?

I'd also like to know, just covered this topic but don't want to memorize a pointless reaction, with ochem being de-emphasized and all...

Might as well as it's one of the easier concepts to grasp. And plus, they're known to test on things not laid out specifically in the AAMC outline. Everything is fair game, as it could very well appear in a passage.
