Someone told me today that I have to have a full year (two semesters worth) of spanish. Is that true? I haven't taken any spanish; not in high school nor in college. I've only taken french and got a 4 on the AP exam.

I also can't see a requirement of spanish anywhere. She said she did her research and knows for sure. But I'm doing research, too, and I can't see spanish as a requirement?

Taking Spanish is not required by any US medical school. However, some schools (Miami comes to mind) with a large Hispanic patient population may recommend being able to communicate Spanish.

No school requires prior spanish, although el paso requires taking medical spanish during medical school. Honestly if you have the time though, you should do it. Probably the most useful skill you can gain in college for medicine
