Do you manage ADHD yourself?

Just curious, as an incoming FM intern. I've seen FM docs who prescribe Adderall without a second thought, others who refer straight to psych immediately, and a few in the middle.

I manage it myself, but I don't always diagnose it myself. For kids, I'll use the Vanderbilt teacher/parent forms and sometimes behavioral psychology if the diagnosis is in question. For Adult ADD, I'll usually just take a good history and use the Jasper-Goldberg screening questionnaire.

I usually have ADHD reffered to me by fm after the first line treatment failed, most fm docs manage straightforward adhd very well.
