Hello all.

I've been accepted to a medical school where my G.I. Bill and yellow ribbon program would cover the cost of tuition and housing. In this case, does it make any financial sense to go HPSP route??

No.

If you have an unquenchable desire to reassociate with the military you can join through FAP and invest the lump payments as a resident when your marginal tax rate will be lowest. Take that money and invest it in a widows and orphans blue chip (like T--which yields 5.85% as of this morning). You'll have a little drone that goes to work every morning and brings you his paycheck every quarter. And the best part is that his paycheck will be taxed at a lower marginal rate than yours.

Do you know the only thing that gives me pleasure? It's to see my dividends coming in.
