i know that there shouldn't be any doppler effect when the relative velocity of the sound source and detector doesn't change. but what about when the source is moving toward a stationary detector with a constant velocity...i swear i saw somewhere that in this situation there shouldn't be any doppler effect. can anyone please explain this?

they frequency which detector will detect will be greater than the frequency emitted by the source when it is moving towards it and if it is moving away form the detector the frequency detected will be less than the frequency emitted.
