Hey guys
I just wanted to know what is it like being on a frss or stp as an ER doc.

Can doctors get there FMF badge?

How close will you be to the front?

Is there room for more advanced training like dive or case vac training?

Do you learn other things in FMF training like tactics marine corps history and weapons?

If you are FMF are you considered a part of the navy usmc team?

What capabilites does the stp and frss have? How mobile are they? Can an er doc be of use in these positions?

Physicians are eligible for the FMF pin. There is no "front" but generally physicians are safe. Dive is completely separate and chosen via the GMESB. CASEVAC training meaning what? You probably learn as much USMC trivia as you want while preparing for the pin (I didn't get one, when I was there we got a ribbon). Everyone in the Navy is part of that team. You can function in any nonsurgical, nonanesthesia role in those groups.
