During Isovolumic relaxation of the heart, the Aortic valve closes while the AV valve still remains closed creating a closed space. During this time the ventricular pressure decreases as the ventricles relax.
How is this possible in an enclosed space/vacuum? Wouldn't the vacuum keep the ventricles from contracting and have constant pressure, similar to the bottle not expanding when you squeeze out the air out of a bottle, then cap it?
There's a chart in an EKG/cardiovascular section of the class that shows this and I was wondering why this is so. Sources would definitely be appreciative!
