elbow luxation in canines

Does anyone here know what key areas i can use to identify canine elbow luxation? I suspected lateral luxation, but from simple palpation, i had a hard time identifying whether the pain was just from inflammation and muscular injury or from a persisting dislocation of the forearm.

i just want to know how to identify possible luxation without radiography.
