Employment Options without the pharmtech license?

Hi, I'm sure this question must have been answered before somewhere, so I apologize for that in advance, but I was wondering what kind of employment options are there if you haven't gotten the pharmtech license thing yet?

I'm a freshman in college, and i've read alot of the posts about how the pharm-tech job is kinda of the "starting point" to get experience and stuff. However, I'm confused on if the pharmtech license is required for the job? I've read about situations in which a retail store (i think it was Walgreens) hired someone without a license, and even offered training to get it?

if anyone could clear these questions up for me, that would be very helpful!

I'm pretty sure in texas you don't have to have a tech license before getting a tech job, but here's the website you can check to make sure.

You can get trained at the store you're hired at, and take the test within the timeframe given. For me it was 9 months.
