Had a few questions about endocrinology? I am a current 4th year med student.
1. How hard is it to get a fellowship? I don't really see myself wanting to practice any other field via IM besides endocrinology. So if I don't get a fellowship I will be in a difficult situtation. There are some other speicalities I am considering but they are not IM related, so I need to decide if IM-Endo is the way to go. Is research pretty much required during IM residency to get an endo fellowship?
2. What is the lifestyle of endocrinologists? How would it compare to other lifestyle friendly fields such as rad's,pm&R,derm, etc. The other field I am considering is Neurology, do these two fields have signficantly different lifestyles.
