Hello everyone,

Quick question regarding the FAP program for all branches of the service... Are medical school applicants encouraged to get their application together prior to matching into a civilian residency? After doing my research on here I was under the impression I should compile my packet and when match day arrives, I am then eligible to officially submit my packet for review so I could be enrolled into FAP prior to my first day of PGY-1 year. The specific recruiter I'm dealer with is under the impression that I don't compile said application packet until I'm active in PGY-1....

Looking at either Army or Navy FAP and go into FM. If anyone can shed some light on this or anything else military I'm all ears.

Thanks everyone!

Just so someone else could find this helpful.

Ideally you want to match first because during the application process you have to provide an acceptance letter.

Recruiters def prefer to entertain applicants that have already been accepted.
