Hey all...

I was just accepted to NYCOM and I was looking to put a good quote in my profile.

Aside from the typical NYCOM '09, anyone have any favorite D.O, medicine, physician, med school, NYCOM, etc quotes?

Cheers!

Not directly a medical quote, but in a way it is, and my favorite either way!

To set the cause above renown,
To love the game beyond the prize,
To honour, while you strike him down,
The foe that comes with fearless eyes.

To count the life of battle good,
And dear the land that gave you birth,
And dearer yet the brotherhood,
That binds the brave of all the earth.

-Sir Henry Newbolt (excerpt from "Clifton Chapel")

Ironically, my favorite Kipling quote isn't from the Maltese Cat (which is my favorite Kipling work)...

From the Jungle book:

Now this is the law of the jungle,
As old and as true as the sky,
and the wolf that keeps it may prosper,
but the wolf that shall break it must die.

As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk,
The law runneth forward and back,
And the strength of the pack is the wolf,
and the strength of the wolf is the pack.

And lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention something by Nietzche...

(roughly translated)

He who fights monsters, should take care not to become a monster himself.
And he who looks long into the abyss, should remember the abyss also looks long into him.

Thanks for all those replies.

Anyone know anything medically or DO related? It could be something as simple as, "Just D.O. it."

Cheers.

Funny thing about the Just "DO" it....a bunch of ppl from IU Med school that were graduating had shirts made up with that exact phrasing...I asked if they went to a DO school and they said no... I don't think they ever even thought of it...I really didn't get that one...but anyhow...
