what is the breakdown of residency specialties at your fellowship programs? Are fellows mostly anesthesiologists? By the end of fellowship, is there a difference in a pain doc's practice whether he or she is from an anesthesia or neurology background?

At my program, it's an even split between anesthesiologists and non-anesthesiologists. The anesthesiologists seemed to have an easier time getting jobs and are taking positions where they can do both operative anesthesia and pain. The rest of us are doing what we must.
