Are there financial benefits that come with being a floater at any of the big chains? I assume you get the employee discount card, but what about stock options or similar?

question does not compute. Most floaters are basically either part-time or full-time employees. Some chains have limited part-time employees that do not receive benefits. Limited part-time employees have full control over their schedule, typically, and often accrue benefits such as store discount and vacation time but not medical/dental.

With any place, it depends on how many hours you work each week. Most places will give full-benefits to part-times working over any certain number of hours (anywhere from 24 - 36 hours I've seen, with the higher end more normal. I did work at a place once that gave limited benefits to employees working 16+ hours/week, this was quite unusual.)
