Hello,
I am currently a 3th course student at Tartu University, Estonia. I would like to become a forensic pathologist after finishing basic medical training, that lasts 6 years here. In Estonia after graduating young doctors should apply for residency (to acquire a speciality, for instance forensic pathologist or anatomical pathologist.. in Estonia they are separated specialities from this year), that lasts 3-5 years. We dont have internship here like in some countries. But I am very seriously planning to go to some scandinavia country that i mentioned above immediately after graduating here.. In February I will start studying Norwegian also.
So, can somebody give me information, what I need exactly to do to become a fully qualified forensic pathologist in Norway or some other Scandinavia country.
:)

Hi, if you gained your diploma in the EU, and your speciality is matching the one in Denmark, you can get automatic authorization: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2005:255:0022:0142:en:PDF - e.g. anatomical pathology is easily recognized as a speciality there too. If you need help in the application, you should contact some specialized recruitment companies, for example Medicolink is specialized on recruiting doctors from the EU to Denmark. They guide you through the whole process, and teach you Danish too, once you got the offer from the Danish hospital. You can also register in their database to get notified about relevant positions in Denmark: http://www.medicolink.com/
