Formal Interview with a Graduate Student

I have been wondering, what is an interview with a grad student like? One of y friend have received an interview for a Phd in Counseling Psy program and she is also supposed to be interviewed by a grad student.

I have been wondering, what is an interview with a grad student like? One of y friend have received an interview for a Phd in Counseling Psy program and she is also supposed to be interviewed by a grad student.

Not substantially different from any other interview. Will give your friend for some perceptive of the program's quality, strengths, and weaknesses from a students perspective which has the potential to be markedly different from faculty's.

Theoretically it's to allow them to figure out if you'd get along with other successful students and be stupid enough to get too informal. And it's for you to get some real world advice from those in the program.
