Hello,
I am a freshmen, this semester was a little more difficult than I thought. My GPA isn't what I expected. Do I still have a chance at medical school? I am an early graduate so I have three semesters left before my planned med school application date. Do I still stand a chance for medical school?

Even if you had a big courseload this semester (21 hours or something crazy like that) one semester is not going be too much to recover from. Retake Ds and maybe Cs and tolerate the Bs. Good luck!

i got a 2.8 this semester. I did a collegiate program in hs, so i transferred in about 68 credit hours. My semester gpa's for all those college credits that I transferred had about 3.7-4.0s.

first year with a 2.8 isn't horrible, you have tons of time to pull it up

You can figure out your overall GPA with one of these:
AMCAS GPA calculator:http://medschool.ucsf.edu/postbac/pdf/AMCAS%20GPA_Calculator%20Version%204%20Final.xls
AMCAS GPA calculator: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=590424
Or a modifiable version/also calc BCPM:

With my rough calculations, you are in the 3.4 to 3.5 range now, which isn't a terrible place to be since you have so many semesters of college left to go, providing you nail down better study strategies from now on.

And keep in mind that if there were any credits that did not transfer to your current school, they will still be calculated into your med school application GPA according to the way they are listed on the official transcript you'll send from each school.
