Does anyone know much about the Full-Time Outservice (FTOS) program? Sounds like the NADDS program (civilian residency) except you remain active duty. Does anyone specifically know if FTOS is an available option for medical students about to graduate?

So far I have only been told about the NADDS as being the only option for graduating medical students who want to do a civilian residency.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes, FTOS is an option; however, in past experience it is unlikely. It will depend on the need for that particular specialty and most are assigned as deferments for residencies. Rank it on your list and go from there.

Agree, unlikely. FTOS is usually reserved for fellowships.
