Funding ABIM short track at different institution

If I were to do the fellowship/research portion of the ABIM track at a different institution than my residency, how would the funding work?

Would I only be able to apply to programs with T32 grants in place, or would I be able to apply to all fellowship programs and then they would just work out the funding later?

If they want you, they'll figure it out. The only difference in funding between this and a regular fellowship is one year. This amounts to about $25K for the average program.
