Hello, this is my first post on SDN and I apologize if this is the incorrect forum. This is my situation briefly:
I graduated with a degree in Biomedical Sciences in spring of '13 with the intent to take a gap year due to family circumstances. However, I'll need to stretch this into two years, and am not sure about what to do regarding rec letters from professors I have researched with and TA'd for. I have read on the SDN that having letters written sooner than later is preferable, and am concerned of potential decline in quality as time drags on. From what I have read on the application process, the letters are electronically sent to AMCAS directly. Would it be possible to have letters sent to AMCAS prior to starting my formal application?
Thank You.
