Good books for USMLE and COMLEX Step 2?

Is Step 2 CK (5th ed), just an update of the old First Aid for USMLE Step 2 (4th ed)...then there is First Aid CS -->is that book useful for the written test, not the Physical Exam part? Also, are there any other books to use? I'm planning on taking it sometime after my ER rotation in July, August? Is that around the right time to take it? Also, when did most people begin to study for Step 2?
