Anyone have or familiar with federal government jobs besides the VA? Curious what opportunities exist and what experience people have had with them.

Well, federal non-VA jobs are kind of limited. Let's see...military, Indian Health Service (Public Health Service staffing that), CIA, probably other intelligence agencies, CDC. That's off the top of my head.

The CIA job paid about $90K/year about 4 years ago. What you did was physicals for the clandestine service people - who, as a rule, are remarkably fit, so it's a lot of ortho and such.

Check USA jobs. https://www.usajobs.gov/Search?keyword=physician+emergency&Location=&AutoCompleteSelected=&search=Search
The search engine is not very good--a search for physician + emergency, salary $100,000+ will pull up lots of non-EM jobs--but it will give you a sense of what's out there, which is mostly VA, with several civilian DOD and IHS jobs and a smattering of others. Note a single listing may be for multiple openings. Some agencies list independently, see, e.g., CIA: https://www.cia.gov/careers/opportunities/support-professional/medical-officer.html
