I have a quick question. When science GPAs are verified, do they only count the prerequisite courses? Or do they also count the other science courses I took throughout undergrad?
I'm asking because I did a lot better when I started taking upper level biology courses :)

Also, will my 4000-level (bio) research class count with the sGPA?

Great thanks for this! I took limited amounts of science classes freshman and sophmore year and didnt do well(arts major). Reetook them all a year after I graduated at a CC. So all my undergrad science work will be under a 3.0 even though my overall science is above a 3. Do they really put much weight into each subjects gpa or will the upward trend override that?
Inorganic chem CBA=3.0
Ochem CDAA =2.75
Bio. CBA=3.0
Physics AA. =4.0
Math. CADB=2.5

Add anatomy and pshysiology into the mix my overall science is a 3.1 cumulative 3.5

Also how are Ws looked at?

Thanks so much! This takes away a lot of my confusion.

I guess it depends on the situation. If you have multiple Ws for no apparent reason, it's not going to look "right". But if you have Ws...and then retook that same class for a grade, it shows that you either withdrew so that you could concentrate on other courses that semester or that you wanted to wait for a better time to take the course.

I don't think it'll have a huge influence on your application.

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question. I understand that retake grades are all considered in the GPA calculations, but what about  courses, grades that aren't factored into my transcript or calculated? My retakes have (r) next to it. I have a D for physics II and it has a  next to it.. will that be calculated in my gpa as well??

My understanding - if you didn't drop with a W and that D factored into your GPA at the university, then it will also count into AACPMAS system.

Did this answer your question?

And this thread was a year ago bro.

LOL! Hey dude. Yeah I didn't want to start another thread and clog the forum. Reason why I asked is because I have (N) next to the grade that wasn't factored into my overall GPA on the transcript.
Wasn't sure if that was considered a (r) which is retake or just idk... lol. How di your interview go?

(can't believe (lower case N) means thumbs down hahaha)
