Hi all. Are there any other important reducing agents whose mechanism one should memorize for the MCAT other than H2 & a catalyst, H2NNH2, and LAH?

H2NNH2 is unique because it will reduce the carbonyl carbon of an aldehyde or ketone only. What are the important benefits or unique things about the others?

Thank you

this is interesting, i thought n2h4 also worked on cooh and coor

Aldehydes and Ketones only.
Only Hydrazine reaction you need to know for MCAT is Wolff-Kishner reduction of an Aldehyde or Ketone
